The town of Saugeen Shores grants us money for trail maintenance, but we depend on donations to support trail improvements, such as the Mill Creek Bridge, the Port Elgin train station/washroom, Southampton Rotary Rail Head, etc.
We are an organization of volunteers and all donations go to improving the rail trail and its amenities. You can help this long term project by buying a trail membership. Any amount of $50 or more will be recognized by your name on the supporter list at the Port Elgin Trail Head.
- Basic or Family Membership $20.00
- Patron $50.00
- Trailblazer $100.00
To become a member print and fill out a membership form and send a cheque to the address below.
We also maintain the Memorial Gardens in Southampton as part of the Rail Trail. Various types of Memorials are possible, either at the Memorial Gardens, or in some cases, elsewhere along the trail.
- Friends of the Garden $100-$499 Donations are used for enhancement of existing garden features, and are recognized in the Trailhead gazebo.
- Living Memorial $500-$999 Covers the purchase of a tree and subscribed marker.
- Lasting Memorial $1,000-$2,400 Purchase of a bench, fountain, or other memorial with subscribed marker.
